Vishaal Singh is a planetary geologist broadly interested in the characterization of dynamic outer shells – to improve our understanding of the surface physics and chemistry of our Moon, Ocean Worlds, and identify the limits of our diagnostic capabilities. He graduated with a B.Sc and M.Sc in Applied Geology from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (2016), and a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from Arizona State University (2021). His work involves experimental science techniques such as spectroscopy, mechanics, and radiative transfer modeling to unravel the age, composition, and internal structures of lunar and Jovian & Saturnian moons, and the Uranian system. He also focuses on the research and development of experimental, laser-based, spaceflight in-situ geochronology investigations across the Solar System, with the NASA PRISM payload, DIMPLE.
