About

Steve Osterman is a Program Director for the Southwest Research Institute’s Solar System Science & Exploration Division, where he serves as project manager for the DIMPLE (Dating an Irregular Mare Patch with a Lunar Explorer) PRISM payload.  Dr. Osterman has been with SwRI since 2020, and has over 37 years experience in space flight instrumentation, ranging from hands on assembly of EUV optical payloads through payload project management. Prior  missions supported include the Special Sensor Ultraviolet Limb Imager (SSULI) payloads for the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program, the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE), the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph (COS) for the Hubble Space Telescope, the Habitable Zone Planet Finder (HPF) for the Hobby Eberly Telescope, the Europa Imaging System (EIS) for the Europa Clipper Mission, the Polarimeter to Unify the Corona and Heliosphere (PUNCH) mission, and the Space Weather Solar Coronagraph (SwSCOR).
