Sam is a solar physicist in the Department of Solar and Heliospheric Physics. He has worked extensively on nearly all aspects of the PUNCH calibration pipeline, including scientifically-focused work (such as calibration), pipeline automation (including a focus on execution speed and efficiency), and user tools. He has done image processing work for the WISPR imager on PSP, developing a novel method for location certain observed features in 3D, and image processing and analysis with DKIST.
