Rachel Cueva joined SwRI in 2026 as a Postdoctoral Researcher. She earned her B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and both her M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Colorado Boulder. Her doctoral research focused on the long-term dynamical evolution of near-Earth and small main belt binary asteroid systems. At SwRI, her postdoctoral work is for the Center for Lunar Origin and Evolution (CLOE) program, which involves numerically modeling the collisional evolution of fragments in the terrestrial planet forming region.
