About

Maddie joined SwRI in 2026, following her completion of her B.S. in Earth & Space Exploration, concentrating in Astrophysics, and obtaining her certificate in Planetary Science at Arizona State University (ASU). She completed her senior thesis on the Misconceptions of AI Usage in the Space Industry in fulfillment of Barrett, The Honors College requirements at ASU. She also served as Project Manager for her capstone project, aiding the NASA Psyche Mission in identifying and testing instrumentation that could be used on a follow-up mission to 16 Psyche or other metallic bodies. She previously supported Lucy Mission Outreach through her internships with the L’SPACE program, working as a Program Analyst Mentor before her promotion to Programmatic Advisor, in which she taught program students the fundamentals of space mission planning. She additionally volunteered with Duckweed Labs as a Program Analyst to help support their objective of developing a growth chamber for duckweed to provide astronauts and communities on Earth facing food scarcity with vital nutrients. Now part of SwRI’s Proposal and Project Administration team, Maddie is supporting technical and programmatic staff with large mission scheduling, cost analysis, and instrument logistics. Maddie is currently working to support JEDI, DIMPLE, and SwSCOR.
