Kevin Sacca

About

Dr. Kevin Sacca is a Senior Research Engineer in the Department of Space Operations in the Solar System Science and Exploration Division. He began his SwRI career in Boulder in 2025 with roles as the Deputy Instrument Systems Engineer on the Space-weather Solar CORonagraph (SwSCOR) mission and also as the DIMPLE Vision System Lead Engineer for the Dating an Irregular Mare Patch with a Lunar Explorer (DIMPLE) mission. His expertise lies in remote sensing imaging systems design, modeling, and testing. Previously, he worked on shallow-water topobathymetric lidar instrument design and testing, New Glenn developmental flight instrumentation avionics at Blue Origin, and on imaging systems for asteroid-mining spacecraft at Planetary Resources, Inc. Sacca has an M.S. and Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering Sciences from the University of Colorado Boulder and a B.S. in Imaging Science from Rochester Institute of Technology.
