About

Chris Lowder is a Senior Research Scientist and acting group leader in the Department of Solar and Heliospheric Physics. He studies the evolution of magnetic fields in the solar corona, particularly through connecting observations and numerical modeling, with a particular focus on understanding the evolution of these fields throughout the 11-year solar cycle. He is a member of the PUNCH mission Science Operations Center, working with the team to develop the data processing pipeline to study the heliosphere and corona. He earned a B.S. in Physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and M.S. and PhD degrees in Physics from Montana State University.
