Brian Keeney is a Principal Analyst for the Department of Space Operations in the Solar System Science & Exploration Division. He organized mission-critical occultation observing campaigns worldwide to support NASA’s Lucy and New Horizons missions, as well as the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt. Keeney also supports Lucy science sequencing and New Horizons data archiving operations. His research has used images and spectra from planetary spacecraft, the Hubble Space Telescope, and many ground-based telescopes to study asteroids, comets, and Kuiper belt objects (Pluto, Charon, Arrokoth), as well as distant galaxies and quasars. He has a PhD in astrophysics from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
