Brendan Sheets is an Engineer in the Southwest Research Institute’s Solar System Science and Exploration Division. He is a member of the NASA Lucy Science Operations Center (SOC) team.  Brendan is responsible for commanding the LORRI and TTCam instruments, developing SOC software and review products, and analyzing the Lucy instrument’s data retrieval during asteroid encounters and calibration activities. Mr. Sheets has extensive experience developing and implementing software solutions for aerospace applications, including the use of Python, MATLAB, and STK. Additionally, he has a background in Astrodynamics and Satellite Control, including mission design and trajectory optimization, statistical orbit determination, and numerical analysis methods. Brendan graduated from the University of Colorado – Boulder with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering with a Space minor.
