About

Dr. Alyssa Rhoden is a Staff Scientist and group leader within the Planetary Science Directorate at the Southwest Research Institute. She is an expert in the geophysics and dynamics of outer solar system moons, particularly candidate ocean worlds. Dr. Rhoden has served on multiple NASA and National Academies of Science committees, was a member of the science advisory council for the Lunar and Planetary Institute, and co-led the formation of a successful NASA Astrobiology Research Coordination Network. She has broad management and leadership experience: participating in mission development at the executive level, advising students and post-docs, and leading NASA ROSES-supported research projects. Dr. Rhoden is also a mother of two children (and two dogs) and enjoys rock climbing, live storytelling, and oil painting.
