Dear Everyone!

You are invited to the FIFTEENTH annual BratfEast on Saturday Sept 7 from 2pm til 8pm. (Rain or shine!) Come and kick off the fall with us!

What: BratfEast XV - BratfEast is an annual October-fest style party for all area science geeks and their families, friends, and pretty much everyone else. Budded from an ongoing Tucson based party known as Bratfest, BratfEast now has a life of its own here in the MD / DC / VA area - and that means you!

When: Saturday, September 7, 2pm to about 8pm

Where: APL Picnic Area A

The picnic area is off of Sanner Road, which is the western edge of the main APL campus. Take the Cedar Lane/Sanner Road exit from route 32 (Sanner Rd. goes south, Cedar Lane north), or turn north on Sanner road off of Johns Hopkins Rd.

Who: You! And your family! And your friends! And anyone else! And feel free to pass this email on. Everyone is invited! RSVP is not necessary, just come!

If you do Facebook, go to
https://www.facebook.com/events/290186725256555/ .

Details: We'll have bratwurst (and hotdogs and other sausages), buns, beer (a keg, so no need to bring more beer), corn, MD crabs, multiple types of cheesecakes, and some other beverages. You can bring a side dish or dessert if you like, but that is not at all required. We have plenty of picnic tables but you may wish to bring a folding/camp chair.

More Details: Where did this BratfEast come from? At the University of Arizona in the planetary sciences department, Bratfest is a party involving bratwurst, beer, corn, and cheesecake and has become a tradition in multiple places such as Colorado and our own Maryland.

The "BratfEast High Command" (the folks who make BratfEast happen here in MD) hail from APL, Goddard, NSF and other fine institutions. The high command is looking for new members! Interested in helping out once a year to make BratfEast a reality? Let us know!

Cheers,
Barbara
