Department Hosts Numerous Visitors

The Department of Space Studies maintains an active scientific visitor's program, with both long term (sabbatical-class) and shorter (e.g., summer) length visits by colleagues from other institutions. Currently, Doug Hamilton (U. Maryland) is completing a year-long visit to the Department. John Spencer (Lowell Observatory) is nearing the middle of a 6-month stay, and Phil Nicholson (Cornell) is about to arrive for a stay that will extend through the end of 2002. Also currently in residence is Erik Asphaug (UC Santa Cruz), who is spending much of July and August with us.
