Cassini Imaging Team Lead and CICLOPS Move to SwRI-DoSS

On June 4, 2001, the Imaging Team Lead and Cassini Imaging Central Laboratory for Operations (CICLOPS) imaging operations team moved to the Department from the Lunar and Planetary Lab at the University of Arizona. Headed by Dr. Carolyn Porco, CICLOPS brings eight scientists and support staff to SwRI-DoSS. The CICLOPS team is responsible for processing and disseminating imagery taken by the Cassini spacecraft which will arrive at Saturn on July 1, 2004 and begin a nominal four-year tour of the planet and its moons. The Cassini imaging investigation is an exciting and scientifically rich addition to the scientific depth and breath of the Space Studies Department of SwRI.
