Colleagues -

Reservations for the Workshop Hotel are now
open through web access as well as by telephone.

The organizers STRONGLY encourage you to use
the workshop hotel for your lodging.  We have
negotiated a reasonable rate for the area.

Although you may be able to save a little
money by staying elsewhere, everyone should
be aware that the hotel must generate revenue
to provide us with the meeting facilities
at a cost that is affordable within the
registration fees.   If we don't generate
guest room revenue, our (and your) costs would
not be affordable.  So by staying at the
workshop hotel, you will be supporting and
reducing costs for this workshop.  You will
also be improving the chances that organizers
of future scientific meetings will take the
risks to make them happen.

Also note that the "resort fee" really is $8,
not $13 as you may be quoted.  Just ignore it.
You will only be charged the $8.

Our block of rooms can be expected to be available for several
weeks, with a current hotel registration deadline of Aug 7.
Nonetheless, it would be advisable to make your reservations
as early as is practical.

These guest room rates will be offered by Hotel 3 days
prior and 3 days after the meeting dates (which are
Aug 20 - Aug 23), subject to availability of guest rooms
at the time of reservation.

All room rates are quoted exclusive of applicable state
and local taxes, which are currently 11.4%, as well as
an $8.00 per room per day resort fee (includes: no access
charge for local, credit card and toll free calls, bottled
water, in-room Starbucks coffee, parking, incoming faxes,
fitness center, daily newspaper).

UPDATE: Yes, the $8 resort fee is correct, even if the
reservation system tells you $13 or some other amount (their
system is somehow stuck in displaying only winter resort
fees, which are higher).

Room rates are based on double adult occupancy. Additional
adults will be charged $25.00 per night to occupy the room.
Children 17 years and under stay free with an adult.
Rollaway beds are also an additional $25.00 per night.

Village Inn and Morningside condominiums may require a
minimum five (5) night stay.
