What about other Systems?

• Important parameters are:
  • Mass and luminosity of the star.
  • Mass of solids in the disk.
  • Lifetime of gaseous nebula.
  
  
  
• Very little has been done.
  
  
  • Wetherill (1996) has looked at different disk and star masses.
    • But, long enough ago that he had to use approximate, Monte-Carlo methods.
    
    
    
  • Kokubo & Ida (2002) looked at disk mass, but only to the end of oligarchic growth.
    • But, they tried to guess what the planetary system will look like.
    
    
    
  • Levison & Agnor (2003) has looked at the role that giant planets play.
    • But, we kept the the mass of the star and disk mass constant.
    
    
    
  • A few specific systems have been looked at.
    • 47 Ursae Majoris (Laughlin et al. 2002).
    • Centauri (Quintana et al. 2002).
