  • However, no significant accretion beyond 1AU.
  • These may not be habitable because of a nearby asteroid belt.

  • This may not be habitable because of a massive Oort cloud (see Wetherill 1993).
    • Oort cloud in the system is ~4X that in our Solar System.
      • In our solar system, Jupiter and Saturn made Oort cloud formation inefficient.
    • Jupiter is currently protecting Earth from impacts: Only ~0.1% of comets get by Jupiter (Levison et al 2001).
    • LPC impact rate could be 4000 times higher than on Earth
      • One 1km comet will hit every 500 years!
