The Lunar Late Heavy Bombardment (LHB)
- There is growing evidence that the Moon and other rocky bodies
suffered a spike in the impact rate ~3.9Ga (Tera et al. 1974).
- If a spike, the most likely cause is a change in the dynamical state of the planetary system.
(Levison et al. 2001).
