Role of Evaporation and Recondensation
- We performed a series of simulations with an evaporation front at 4AU.
- Algorithm based on Cuzzi & Zahnle (2004)
- Included fragmentation.
- We find that this process did not help if fragments were large.
- If rf ≥ 30m, resonant trapping pushed planets inward until major resonances are <4AU.
- However, it did help for small fragments.
- The inner embryos grew significantly.
- Our most successful runs combined planetesimal driven migration with this process.
- All our embryos grew to ~10 Earth-masses.
