Abstract: Chondrites show evidence for extensive fluid alteration in the parent asteroid, indicating that the accretion of water and ice played a significant role in the formation and early evolution of planetesimals. The goal of this study is to constrain fluid alteration conditions in the CM chondrite parent body through petrographic and isotopic analyses of carbonates and magnetite, secondary minerals that form via fluid-rock interactions.
