We know relatively little about this small object (or objects?), but dedicated observations from Earth watched several
stars pass behind it in the summer of 2017, from different locations on Earth. Based on a complicated analysis, one
possible interpretation of the data is that there are three objects. Two are very close together or touching, and a
third is farther away and is smaller. Further observations will try to narrow the possibilities before the encounter,
but observations during the encounter will cover a lot of space around the object(s) to search for other possible bodies.
