COLORADO COMMODITIES
No, not Colorado Commofites, the commodities broker that used
to inhabit the 4th floor near SwRI. But instead, how to
source some of the Bratfest items.
Most of the food and drink items can be had in normal stores,
as noted in "Menu" above. But a few items are special and
we get them at these locations (please patronize them
in this time of pandemic):
- CORN
Our corn is provided by a family-run local grower, Munson Farms, located
on the northwest corner of 75th and Valmont, Bouder.
Often, the corn is gone by Sep 25, but they claim as of the
25th that they still have some! Pumpkin patch is now also
open.
A real bonus here is that their corn is picked the same
morning it is sold. Website:

- GERMAN ROLLS
Our custom-made rolls come from Master Baker
Michael Vyskocil at The Bavarian Bakery, in Longmont.
Some of you may have met him and his wife at last year's Fest.
He produces many European Breads and sweet treats. He also
has a restaurant at the Longmont location and does catering. Some
of his bread products can be found in local stores as well.
It is on the north side of Ken Pratt Blvd, just south of Nelson Rd.

I'm sure he could use some business during this tough time. When
we initially told him what we needed, he was hesitant at first, but
soon came out of the back room with a calculator, ruler, calipers,
weight scale, and all the rest. He said "If we are going to
do this, we are going to do it right!" with his residual
German accent. For 12 years now, he has always come through for
us with a spectacular product, coming in early on Saturdays, when
he is normally off, to personally prepare the custom, organic, rolls,
timing
them to come out of the oven only a few hours before the Fest.
Thank you, Michael!
