Triton Watch Filename Format Description
Image file names that are uploaded to our data site
should follow the format: YYYYMMDD_TFXX_IIII.fits
where:
- YYYYMMDD is the UT date of the observation
- YYYY = 4-digit year
- MM = 2-digit month
- DD = 2-digit day
- T is the type of image. Use the following image codes:
- ``t'' = Triton (i.e., optimally exposed for Triton)
- ``n'' = Neptune (i.e., optimally exposed for Neptune)
- ``f'' = flat
- ``b'' = bias
- ``d'' = dark
- F is the filter (U, B, V, R, or I). This can be omitted for
bias or dark images, but the observer can include it anyway for simplicity.
- XX is a running number if you have more than one image
in a given filter (start with ``01'', please)
- IIII is the observer's TritonWatch identification number,
in the format ``tw01'', ``tw02'', etc.
- .fits is the default extension for FITS files
Examples
An image of Triton taken in the V filter on June 5, 2001 by observer
number 04 would look like: 20010605_tv01_tw04.fits
If the same observer got three R filter images of Neptune on October 15th, the
third image would have the name: 20011015_nr03_tw04.fits
